FAMILY ROOM
In this redesign, personal photos were removed from the walls and replaced by a large print, some wall sconces, and a clock. A white square coffee table was purchased and an old trunk was re-purposed as an end table. New pillows added pattern, colour, and texture to the leather sofa. The black occasional chair was moved out and the rocking chair placed near the entrance to the room. Finally, a sisal rug was added to define this inviting seating area.

"My husband and I LOVE our newly configured and updated living room. You were so imaginative in finding a way to create just one focal point and, at the same time, use our existing furniture, paintings and decorative items to create a stunning new look...you took the time to listen to how we used our home and made every effort to include our favourite pieces in the living room."
Gillian Crowley, Sidney BC

The goal of this redesign was to make the space more intimate and inviting. The carpet was rotated and the sofa and chairs moved away from the walls to flank the fireplace. The rocking chair and side table were grouped together to make a cozy reading corner. A low shelving unit was purchased to house the stereo equipment on the wall behind the sofa. Finally, art work and an antique clock from elsewhere in the home were relocated to hang on the main wall of this now snug and friendly room.

"Michelle, from Creative Stage Solutions, has an eye for design and the simple solution. She rearranged the furniture in my living room, and moved some artwork, creating a wonderful new look and feel in the room. Friends who came over that evening asked, 'When did you get NEW furniture? It looks so nice!'"

LIVING ROOM
The adjoining living room was a study in stark neutrals punctuated by three pole lamps. Michelle removed two of the lamps and the laundry rack from the balcony. She then installed blue draperies, patterned cushions, a table lamp, a large palm tree, and tea-light coffee table decor. She also created a seaside-themed mixed media piece for above the sofa. These alterations gave the room additional character and a more sophisticated ambiance.
The client was thrilled when her condo sold within three weeks in a very slow market!
"The experience of working with
Michelle was fabulous, absolutely fabulous! Her strengths are in organization,
and she's very creative. She had lots of ideas of where to put things, some
de-cluttering ideas, everything. It was absolutely worth every penny! I'll more
than likely contact her via email and she can give me ideas for my new place,
too."

BATHROOM
In this redesign, the clients wished to incorporate treasured accessories from their previous life overseas. Middle Eastern-themed prints were hung above the tub and the toilet. Two of the clients' Moroccan candle lamps were placed on opposite corners of the tub. Orchid floral arrangements were purchased to sit on the counter and by the window. Finally, towels and a bathmat were added that matched the adjoining bedroom's navy and white colour scheme.

BEDROOM
The client in this redesign wanted to transform her office/study into a cozy bedroom. First, Michelle painted the room a warm yellow. Then she constructed the headboard from a recycled wooden door and made the window treatment from foam core board and fabric. She used the remaining fabric for two matching cushions and purchased two additional decorative cushions for the bed. Final result: a delighted client with a new and cheery bedroom to call her own.

KITCHEN
Staging this elderly widower's kitchen began with stripping the wallpaper and painting the walls and countertops to match the more neutral flooring that Michelle selected. After a major de-cluttering and the installation of a new white range hood for the dated brown one, this small room was good to go!

"The work you did on the house definitely made a difference. It shows so bright and clean now. Painting the countertops made a world of difference, and the placement of the furnishings made it a more spacious looking home."

HOME OFFICE
This basement office was a cluttered work space before Michelle helped the elderly owner transform it so he could put his house on the market. They sorted through his belongings and donated items that he wouldn't need in his new, smaller quarters. Michelle painted the walls and baseboards, streamlined the window treatments and repositioned existing furniture. Prospective buyers now have no problem seeing this as a charming room where a family can spend quality time together.

LIVING ROOM (EAST VIEW)
Michelle's staging of this space involved removing all personal photos as well as religious and patriotic articles. The room's walls and the wallpaper panel in the adjacent front entry were painted a soft beige to match the newly installed carpet. Soft pleated shades replaced the balloon valance. Finally, the chair and lampshade were exchanged for items from elsewhere in the house. As a result, buyers can now imagine themselves in this bright, clutter-free room.

LIVING ROOM (WEST VIEW)
A second view of the living room shows the dramatic impact a basic de-clutter, new carpets, and paint can have on a space.

BATHROOM
Making over this space started with removing fake plants, a metal shelving unit and cup dispenser attached to the mirror. Personal products were placed into baskets on newly installed shelves above the toilet. A decorative print and
coordinating towels were purchased, along with dispensers for soap, hand lotion and paper cups. The valance and lace sheers on the window were replaced by an opaque film adhered to the glass. These updates changed this dull and
cluttered ensuite bathroom to a light and elegant space, perfect for pampering.
"I love, love, love my new bathroom! You took the time to understand my priorities and my likes and dislikes and came up with ideas that were a perfect fit for me. Thank you so much!"

DINING ROOM/KITCHEN
The young newlywed client requested advice on colours that would inject some pizzazz into her first home.
"During our consultation, Michelle really focused on what MY ideas and desires were. Not only did she bring a lot of resources,
but she took my ideas, desires, decorating and furniture style into
consideration to create a new color scheme for my house.
By using digital pictures of my home and editing software, Michelle was able to show me what a room or area would look like painted a certain color. This was extremely helpful, saved me a lot of time, and gave me the confidence to go ahead with the colour I’d chosen."
